WEEK 5 RECAP:
Injuries continue to cloud what is otherwise an interesting fantasy football season, but the good news for Tom is that appears to have finally got on track. Tom won the Week 5 $20 award with an impressive victory over Dan L. Jeff Garcia and Torry Holt helped him to victory and what he hopes will be the turnaround of what started as a promising season. In other action Paul improved to 5-0 with a win in the battle of records leader vs. points leader. He survived 6 turnovers from Tony Romo and hung on for the win. Dan, however, still maintains his lead in the points race. Jeremie is now in second place following his win over Marc as Kenton Keith came back to haunt his former owner in a big way. And don't look now but Kevin in 4-1 after he and Tom Brady laid the smack down on Dennis. Other action saw Eddie get his first win of the year in a defeat of Nick, who drops to 0-5. And finally, Uncle Joe got some long-overdue production from Maurice Jones-Drew in a win over Mike.

THIS WEEK'S MATCHUPS:
Dan L. (Hebrew Hammer) vs. Jeremie (Shorn Beaver). Dan's fallen on hard times after a hot start, while red-hot Jeremie looks to continue his pursuit of first place.
Eddie (Full Hairy Jacket) vs. Mike (Iron Insanity). Both were a hair away from winning the title last year but have fallen on hard times in 2007. A win is sorely needed for both.
Nick (Vengeance) vs. Paul (Strictly Business). First place vs. last place. Undefeated vs. has yet to win a game. Hey, if Stanford can beat USC...
Dan T. (DanT's Inferno) vs. Tom (SanDiego SpankFest). Has Tom's team finally awoken from its slumber? He's got a tough task this week against our points leader.
Dennis (Sinned76) vs. Marc (Ivana Green Booger). Two teams horribly depleted by injuries square off. An ambulance is standing by.
Uncle Joe (Mongrels) vs. Kevin (Motor City Madmen). Our defending champion has won two straight. This week he gets the 4-1 powerhouse that is Kevin "I heart Tom Brady" Clark.

LEAGUE NEWS & NOTES:
-This season has been one of the worst in recent memory when it comes to injuries. Please keep careful track of your lineups and roster.
-In trade news, Marc sent RB Kenton Keith to Jeremie for QB Jay Cutler. Keith then came back to almost single-handedly beat Marc.
-This week there are a whopping SIX teams on bye. Buffalo, Denver, Detroit, Indianapolis, Pittsburgh, and San Francisco are all on bye.

THE "POOP SHEET"
-Dennis makes the "poop sheet" this week for a pair of lineup violations. It was announced on Friday that Javon Walker would not play this week. Also, it was rumored all week that Bob Sanders would not play and sure enough, he didn't. A tip for the future: when it comes to defensive players (and possibly kickers) if they're questionable or doubtful to play, cut them and pick up someone else. Good defensive players are a dime a dozen and chances are there are other defensive players performing just as well as yours (if not better) on the waiver wire. It's not worth the risk to hold onto them. Mike gets a pass for Todd Heap, who was a gametime decision, and Uncle Joe gets a pass for Santonio Holmes, who hurt himself in warmups.
